108th Nebraska Legislature
The Study Group believes it is both our right and responsibility to stay informed and participate in our government. Whereas, there is not currently any recordings of legislative procedures made available to the public, the Study Group works to live-stream Nebraska Public Media’s Lives in an attempt to help folks view sessions after NPM’s live has ended. After much advocacy work and debate, the Nebraska Legislature passed Senator Brewer’s bill 254 which the Governor signed into law on May 30, 2023. LB254 “create[s] a publicly accessible internet archive of all video recordings of the legislature and it's committee hearings in order to provide greater government transparency to the public.”
The Study Group will continue to work to livestream the NPM Live as best as we are able until LB 254 is fully enacted and an official record has been established and made available to the 2nd House.
